Her book is out today and I promise (pinky swear) you need this one. It’s called Own It All: How to Stop Waiting For Change and Start Creating It - Because Your Life Belongs To You.

What I love most about this book is that yes, you’ll hear Andrea’s amazing journey from teen single mom and domestic violence survivor, to multi-million dollar business owner (her chain of studios is going national!), but there’s more… Andrea has made this book a true step-by-step guide to taking major ACTION - it’s no-nonsense and entirely practical. She’s all about helping you be unapologetic in your goal-setting (no more playing small - shoot for the moon!) and creating consistent, forward momentum that’s true to you, where you are, and where you want to go. **Reminder: Fangirling is healthy, friends!** So here comes a dose of fangirlin’ from moi... Please get your hands on this phenomenal new book: Own It All: How to Stop Waiting For Change and Start Creating It - Because Your Life Belongs To You, written by Andrea Isabelle Lucas.

Andrea has written a funny, inspirational tear-jerker (her story is my fav kind of badass empowerment) that focuses on the ONE mindset change that took her from teen single mom, former stripper and domestic violence and poverty survivor, to being the founder and CEO of a multi-million dollar barre and yoga studio chain that’s going national.

Plus, the book includes a stellar collection of interviews from folks like Ash Ambirge, Esther Fairfax, Susan Hyatt, Alexia Vernon, Sara Mora, Tabitha St. Bernard-Jacobs, Katherine North, Nick North, Katherine Clark, Phee Manuel, Linda Sivertsen, and Kimmie Smith.

If you’re looking for a straight up and down-to-earth feminist voice that’s equal parts encouraging and unapologetic, Andrea’s book is it. My copy is already in the mail - order yours here: https://andreaisabellelucas.com/order

My friend Andrea is a badass (she’s a mom of two, a keynote speaker who’s shared the stage with Michelle Obama, and the founder and CEO of a multi-million dollar barre and yoga studio chain that’s going national - clearly a Badass Queen, right?).

Here’s how I like to define the word ‘badass’ (a leather jacket and smokey eye are welcome, but not required):

A badass is someone who OWNS it. They own their unique history and personality quirks.

They own their decisions (and they are surely making decisions - badasses are the opposite of passive) and the impact of those choices. They aren’t waiting to be rescued or given permission. The badass spirit essentially says, “Okay, Life. I’m here. I’m showing up for the highs and the lows. I’m IN. Let’s do this.”

What else would you add to my definition of a badass? Tell me in the comments below.

PS. Andrea’s badass book, Own It All: How to Stop Waiting For Change and Start Creating It - Because Your Life Belongs To You, is out now. Think: #GIRLBOSS + motherhood + a feminist in yoga pants. This is the zero-fluff story of how a teen single mom, recovering from domestic violence and personal poverty, created a multi-million dollar brand that’s going national. It’s an inspiring story, told in Andrea’s super practical style that shows you how to turn each chapter into powerful action steps in your own life. It gets my A+ recommendation.  https://andreaisabellelucas.com/order

CAPTION: I want to tattoo those words on all our eyelids. Step up. Speak up. Do the work. Show up. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. (All the exclamation points!)

@andreaisabellelucas is one of my favorite feminist voices these days. She is a barre & yoga badass, and the founder and CEO of a multi-million dollar studio chain that’s going national. Oh, and her bangs are pretty much #hairgoals. (Swish and snap, girl!)

Those tattoo-worthy words above are from her book, Own It All: How to Stop Waiting For Change and Start Creating It - Because Your Life Belongs To You, which I STRONGLY recommend. This book reads like an anthem, a deep sigh, and a major momentum-kickstarter. Link in my bio.

CAPTION: Ahh, the big life lessons of time management, setting boundaries, and respecting your yes enough to say NO to others - vital stuff, right? When I read that quote above in my friend @andreaisabellelucas new book, I sighed and thought to myself, “Yesss. I know exactly what I need to say NO to. Alright, I’ve gotta finally do that.” It was a necessary nudge to reset how I’m prioritizing my time. (Thank goodness for internet friends who snap us back to remembering what matters, right?)

This is exactly what Andrea’s book is about: taking ownership of every area of your life (time, health, money, relationships, ALL of it) and stopping the cycle of waiting on permission or an instruction manual. This book is zero fairy dusty and 100% grounded. Check it out. Link in my bio.

So what do you need to say NO to? Tell me in the comments below: What is eating up your time, and you know it’s time to put a strong boundary in place?

CAPTION: Shoutout to the badass mama and entrepreneurial boss @andreaisabellelucas for this reminder. In her book, Own It All: How to Stop Waiting For Change and Start Creating It - Because Your Life Belongs To You, Andrea talks in detail about how she’s learned to give herself permission to be both an ambitious business owner and a present, very engaged mom. Anyone relate? She’s an inspiring reminder that we get to be more than one thing - we already are.

If you sometimes feel the pressure to choose between your career goals and being an awesome mama or papa, I highly recommend Andrea’s book. Link in my bio.

CAPTION: This is why I love @andreaisabellelucas new book. She’s not denying that our world is complicated and full of systemic and personal problems, but despite all that, OWN YOUR LIFE.

The book is called Own It All: How to Stop Waiting For Change and Start Creating It - Because Your Life Belongs To You. Think #GIRLBOSS + a #feministAF badass in yoga pants.

If you need a procrastination cure, if you’re ready to zap self-doubt and playing small, this book is for you. It gets my A+ recommendation. Link in my bio.

SUBJECT LINE: Let’s talk about your potential...

Have you ever asked yourself, “What is my potential?”?

In your career & finances.
In your physical & mental health.
In your parenting & other relationships.

What are you *actually* capable of? What is your true potential?

I like this question because it immediately puts us into possibility-thinking. It shifts you into seeing your most fulfilling, “I’m really freaking happy to be alive!” life.

But here’s where most of us take this and go sideways:

We leave our potential as potential.

We get clear on how bright and badass our lives could be, but then we tell ourselves things like:

But So-And-So is already doing that...
But I don’t have the money, qualifications, tech savvy, etc…
But I don’t have the time to do that and these other things, so I’ll just give this up.

And all that potential just sits there inside us, doing a whole lot of nothing. Unused and unrealized.

One of the reasons that I do what I do is because I want to help people break through those “but” roadblocks, which is why I’m THRILLED to tell you about something that does exactly that...

It’s a book called Own It All: How to Stop Waiting For Change and Start Creating It - Because Your Life Belongs To You, written by my friend, Andrea Isabelle Lucas.

Andrea is the founder of Barre & Soul®, a chain of barre and yoga studios that’s going national. But before she was a CEO and a keynote speaker sharing the stage with Michelle Obama and Billie Jean King, she was a teen single mom and a woman who knows the pains of domestic violence and personal poverty.

How the heck did she start there, and then go on to create a multi-million dollar business, all while raising two amazing kids? This book is an easy-to-read account of exactly how she did it.

But instead of just telling her story memoir-style, Andrea writes with a conversational, no-BS voice that models *exactly* how to apply her hard-won lessons to your life. Each chapter ends with prompts and practical guidance to make this a very ACTIVE reading experience - refreshing, right?

If you sometimes wonder, “How can I be the person on the outside, that I feel I am on the inside?”, this book answers that question. It gets my A+ recommendation.

SUBJECT LINE: There is no dream life (+ a book you need!)

Our [personal development, health & wellness, business building, etc] community loves to talk about your “dream life”.

Of course, the dream’s details are different for each person, but the basic gist is perfection.

Your dream life is a beautifully styled Instagram picture. It’s gushing about how you’re so madly in love with your body, your partner, your home, your clothes, your bank account. You’ve left all your traumas and hardships behind. It’s a life of cuddly unicorns and organic rose water.

But here’s the truth: there’s no such thing.

We can have all those joys and beauties, but not without frustrations. Not without pain. Not without fear. And that doesn’t make us ‘flawed’ - that makes us human. That makes us honest.

So instead of seeking a problem-free life (there’s no such thing), our time and energy is better spent in cultivating resilience.

Resilience is the ability to bounce back from difficulties. It’s mental and emotional strength.

As my friend Andrea Isabelle Lucas says, “We all have what it takes to persevere, to succeed. Every single one of us. We just have to dig deep and decide to use that power.”

That’s the spirit of resilience.

If you want to create anything (a thriving business, a healthy body, a happy marriage, a loving parent-child relationship), you’ve got to grow your resilience muscle. That’s why I want you to read this book:

It’s called Own It All: How to Stop Waiting For Change and Start Creating It - Because Your Life Belongs To You, written by my friend, Andrea Isabelle Lucas.

Andrea is the epitome of resilience.

A teen mom and domestic violence and personal poverty survivor, she’s gone on to create a multi-million dollar barre and yoga chain that’s going national. She’s a keynote speaker who’s shared stages with Michelle Obama and Billie Jean King. And she’s done it all while raising two beautiful children.

In my opinion, she’s basically the poster child for ‘You Are Not Defined By Your Past’. If there’s someone who can teach us all something about resilience, it’s Andrea.

To make 2019 a year of powerful progress and leaps forward, her book is the manifesto and action-taking guide you need.

“Stop waiting. Stop waiting for permission.

Stop waiting to be told what needs to be done. You are not helpless.

Despite everything that has happened to you, you must claim ownership of your life.”
